RouxB:
I didn't say anything for about 30 minutes. Then I said "wow, that was..."

Becky:
January the 8th 2006- a day I will never forget.
This was the date that I went to see it and I was astonished that it was on nowhere else other than Cambridge and the die hard Jake fan that I am, I got the bus up there and managed to convince two friends to go with me. Our showing was a 6:15 and I was feeling nervous all day and didn't quite get why. Well before the viewing we all sat down and I shared that I didn't expect to like it cause what can I say, I was younger then and naive as ever. ::)
After getting caught up in the changing room of a shop we rushed to the tiny arts theatre on the corner at 6:20 and got the very last three seats in the whole of the cinema.
Whilst watching the film, I can honestly say that I went through all of these emotions:
 :) ;) ;D :D >:( :( :o ??? ::) (at my friend for laughing too loud) 8) :P :-X :-\ :-* :laugh: :'( and hell for the fun of it: O0.
When I came out of the cinema I did not cry, which I found interesting but there was alot of silence, which is new to me casue I never shut up. When asked if I liked it I was sure that I did but I needed time to think it over and have it consolidated in my mind. So on the coach trip home I was sat in the corner mulling things over in my mind and humming the soundtrack as best as I could while my friend who loved it as soon as she saw it  was trying to convince my other friend who didn't really like it how great it was. So I went home and a couple of hours later I just broke down and called my friend who loved it, through all the weeping I think she guessed it was me so she simply replied to the loud sobs, "You have been broken by Brokeback". We then got chatting and arranged to go again the next saturday. All through the week everytime I thought about it, which was alot of times, I kept saying "I really want to see it again!" So when Saturday came the flood gates opened and I just couldn't stop crying. :'( I have seen Brokeback 3 more times since that Saturday and I have taken: my sister, my dad and my mum to see it, my mum says Brokeback fever has sweeped this family, infact the only members of our "Family" that haven't seen it are the cats and that will all change by monday. And Yesterday, whilst talking to my neighbour she let slip that she really wants to see it, but she couldn't when it was on in theatres and he husband won't allow it in the house. Well that problem is solved cause I promised I would sneak round when he wasn't there and we would have a Brokeback night. O0
Anyway I am sorry if I have bored you with all of this, I think I am just in a rambling mood tonight, so I am sorry if I have bored you. :-*

Ha ha!! That's right. We HAD to wait until we saw Pierre's name.  For unashamed sentimentality (his board on IMDb was how we met). Goddamn softies we are...

Yes, I had to see Pierre's name before I'd move the first time, and the second time it came as a bit of a surprise - it sort of snapped me back to reality: "Oh yes, that's what makes this movie so specially OURS." I propose we call this the "Pierre-here effect".

NO, Becky, you have not bored us, not me anyway. It is great that your neighbour can get to see it thanks to you when her husband is out. Might give her the courage to change her life for the best concerning her husband ;)
I remember reading a thread started by a young woman, English I think she was, who said the film had inspired her to do what she had known all along to be what she needed, but felt she was stuck: she finally left her husband. That was HER change for the better.

--- Quote from: Ray on April 19, 2006, 08:00:09 am ---I have only watched the film once with one other person and that was Sheyne and we didn't need to say anything.  We just curled our bottom lips and blinked at each other through red eyes all Alice Faye like and picked up the gold fish and waited for Pierre Tremblay to roll along the credits and we left.  Then we said in unison, "God I need a pee!"

Haha. Ray, you and Sheyne might replace Elle and Henrypie as my favorite Chez Tremblay duo. You guys are a riot! (Just kidding, Ellepie, you two are still #1 but Rayne is a close second.)

"Rayne"?  Took me a while, but then I remembered "TomKat", "Bennifer" and then I just killed myself laughing.. Love your work, Sparkle!!!  ;D  ;D  ;D
