I tried watching "9 to 5" last night.  Hadn't seen it when it first came out.  I'm afraid it hasn't held up well; I fell asleep in the middle.

Tonight you could try "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," featuring Burt Reynolds and "I Will Always Love You." (Although I'll have to admit I probably like the Whitney Houston version better.)

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!

I did watch that clip last night.  That song of course was not in the original Broadway musical.  But, she put it in the film and it was popular all over again.

People may forget that it's actually a break-up song.

There's a story that Elvis wanted to cover it.  Colonel Tom Parker approached Dolly.  However, their terms were ridiculous:  she would have to transfer ownership to Elvis!  She KNEW this was her best song, her legacy to her family and said, Hell No!.   Good for her!

Whitney's version was very popular, on the charts for 14 weeks.  I find it a little too bombastic.

This video is 13 years old now, have you ever seen it?

This young woman is at a mall and does the karaoke version of Whitney's version of "I Will Always Love You".  I like the way she sings it.  Maybe because it's a "raw" version, and not produced and polished like Whitney's.
