Remember them, they were the bane of my life. They also faded after 6/12 so you could no longer see what was on them.
I can also remember my first cell phone which was the size of a house brick with an arial that was so long I nearly had to stick it out the sun roof. !!!!!
What's worse I thought I was the dogs do dahs !!!!
hahhahahahahhaha.....oh Fiona....the good ole days, dont they make us laugh now.
I remember the first mobile phone I saw....I worked for a finance company in Sydney, and we had a lunch type meeting with a group of car dealers...One car dealer came in, with this huge monstosity over his shoulder....I kid you not, big leather strap, leading down to a big heavy looking box, with a
full size telephone handset sitting on top of it. It was so big, when he sat down, he had to sit it on the chair next to him.
And did he think he was the ants pants with this bloody new found contraption, everybody was curious, and the dealer bragged about how great it was that his office could contact him, even when he was out having lunch. Everyone waited in anticipation for it to ring, which it did, (probably pre planned with his secretary), and he thoroughly enjoyed showing off, having a conversaton at the table.
Oh.....and yes.......the aerial .........it was so high it nearly poked the waiters eye out when he came to serve the food.
