Hiya BetterMost friends.
Slept much better last night! I'm feeling a little more energy today, which is good since I have stuff to get done here at work today.
Oh, and today is a cowoker's birthday. I usually get in early and decorate the person's cube with balloons and such to commemorate the day.
Not today, and the birthday boy got here even earlier and was sitting in his cube, so I couldn't get my stuff done!
Today is tax day! I have an appointment on my lunch hour and I'm getting my taxes done. Fingers crossed for a nice refund!
Today's Travel Destination:
Kalahari Desert - South Africa
The Kalahari Desert is a large arid to semi-arid sandy area in Southern Africa extending 900,000 square kilometres (350,000 sq mi), covering much of Botswana and parts of Namibia and South Africa, as semi-desert, with huge tracts of excellent grazing after good rains. The Kalahari supports some animals and plants because most of it is not a true desert.
Ancient dry riverbeds—called omuramba—traverse the Central Northern reaches of the Kalahari and provide standing pools of water during the rainy season. Previously havens for wild animals from elephant to giraffe, and for predators such as lion and cheetah, the riverbeds are now mostly grazing spots, though leopard or cheetah can still be found.
