OK, I guess you could say it's paranormal, but it's not particularly gory, but in Halloween season I used to like watching the 1979 version of Dracula, with Frank Langella in the title role. I haven't watched that in decades now because I've never gotten around to replacing my VHS tape with a DVD.

The 1992 version with Gary Oldman is interesting. (I think Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves are dreadfully miscast, but never mind.)

Thanks, Jeff! I'll put that on my list of candidates.

Yeah, spooky season definitely hasn't started.

But when it does, I might watch some horror movies. I've seen three lately -- Sinners, Weapons and 28 Years Later -- and thought they were worth watching. If anybody has suggestions that aren't super gory and don't rely on much paranormal stuff (a little bit, as in all three mentioned above, is OK) I would welcome them.

I start and end the spooky season with the 1978 Halloween and the sequel, Halloween II.

if I'm in a paranormal mood, I would vote for The Changeling.  Such a creepy movie.

Will you play my record? One-track mind!

Thanks, Chuck! That's a good tradition. I loved the first one and remember liking the second, so maybe I'll try one or both.

And I start it with It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.  ::)

Over at my house, it's the Great Banana Squash (apple for scale). What am I going to do with all of this squash meat?
"chewing gum and duct tape"

That's a mammoth, all right. Could you divide it into smaller portions and freeze it? Seems like something that would freeze well.
