Do you stream it or watch a DVD?  From what I've seen online, it's only available on streaming services now.

Heck, I've had a DVD for decades.

(Same deal with A Charlie Brown Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.)

I haven't had anything to play a DVD on for some years (though I think I did once buy an external one I could plug into my computer -- not sure where it is now).

It struck me as odd that a local Walmart was selling DVDs, but they were no longer selling anything to play them on. You can get players--where else?--on Amazon. In the past I've bought DVD players at Walmart.

I can't remember now if it was on Amazon or eBay where I saw devices like I used to have where you could play VHS tapes as well as DVDs.

I have a small flat-screen TV that has a built-in DVD player. I keep forgetting to use it to make sure it still works. I don't particularly like it because you put the DVDs in vertically.

I ran into Santa at the grocery store a couple of Christmas seasons ago. He and I were both trying to find fresh dill in the produce department. He had a big white beard and was dressed in a bright red jacket with fuzzy white trim, red pants and red hat. I let him ask the staff person for the dill because I figured they wouldn't say no to Santa. I kept calling him Santa, even though he had not introduced himself. He asked if I had anything to play a DVD on and I said no, which was too bad because he had a pocket full of CDs of Christmas music he'd recorded and was handing out.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Been a bit busy on my end here.   Last week, my coworker was out on vacation, so I had to cover all my clients, plus hers, plus train a new guy on how to do a specific report.

This week, my coworker is back so the workload has lessened, thankfully!

On Thursday I went out with my friends to see the concert "Legends - 4 Queens, 1 Stage".   Live performances by Gladys Knight, Stephanie Mills, Patti LaBelle, and Chaka Khan.  They were all amazing, the show was a knockout.  My opinion, the best show was by the closer, Chaka Khan.

This week we also had fire inspections and work on the gas meter at my complex, so I had to make sure the apartment was in order, for when people came in.  The plus side is that my time this weekend was freed up, so I spent it decorating for Halloween.

;D

I've posted pics in the Halloween thread, if anyone cares to see them.

Chuck, that concert sounds fantastic! I'll bet those ladies had everyone on their feet and moving to the music!

I have built-in Halloween decorations with my front-yard garden featuring pumpkins, squash and Hopi corn with deep purple kernels! Beautiful and a bit spooky!

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

We are officially into October!  :)

I've got my pumpkin spice scented candles ready to go, and I should start burning them soon.  I'm waiting for the last summer scent to finish.  It won't be long now.

I shut down the work laptop on Friday, and went right to CVS to get my flu shot.  I planned it that way so I would have the weekend to recover if there were any major reactions.  Thankfully, there was only one, a small bump at the injection site.

I still decided to spend a quiet weekend at the apartment to relax, and the only thing I did was the grocery shopping.

I did watch a few horror movies to celebrate "spooky season",  and just kept a "chill vibe" for the weekend.

Next Monday (the 13th) is Colombus Day, so I'll have a three-day weekend, which I'm looking forward to!   I also have vacation time still saved up to use, so I have to look at the calendar and see how much I have left, and when I want to take it.

Mom and dad said their new oven will be arriving this week, so once everything is set up, we'll do a test run on two of our Christmas cookie recipes and see how they go.  the main one to test is the sugar cookies, as last year they spread and were a complete failure.

Hi friend! Thanks for the update. I fell for the pumpkin spice too...got a Starbucks Frappecino as well as some biscotti from Trader Joes. The latter were okay, but the Frappe was very nutmeg-forward. Part of it is still in my fridge after more than a week.

I have been very sort of breath most of the summer, which I blamed on smog and wildfire smoke. A couple of weeks ago I got so tired of it that I went to the doc's. They gave me a sample rescue inhaler. I had one from them from several years ago, but it only had one dose left on it. In the process, the doctor told me I tested positive for the flu! I had no other symptoms. Feeling better now.

I'm divorced from my Italian-American husband so have no need to celebrate Columbus Day anymore. I'm celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day instead, by reading the book "Guns, Germs and Steel" which I've been meaning to read since it came out 25 years ago.

Hiya Lee!   Sorry to hear you tested positive for the flu!  Glad you are on the mend!

It's very strange when it comes to the upcoming holiday.  Some are very offended by the thought of it not being Columbus Day anymore, and other are very offended by this name.   When I send reminder emails out to clients about the bank being closed, I won't name it, I just say "this coming Monday is a National Holiday".

As an Italian, I don't care what it is called.  LOL

I've been wanting to read that, too.
