Good morning. It's 20 F in Philadelphia, snowing, and I don't have to go to work today!
I'm shocked, actually. It wasn't even snowing when I got out of bed this morning. I had my breakfast, and then, purely as a formality, I decided to telephone our Building Status Line before I packed my lunch. To my surprise, the recorded message was that the building is closed because of the snow.
I know the city declared a snow emergency last evening, to keep the main streets free of parked cars. I haven't actually heard an accumulation figure for the city, though I heard a forecast for 2 to 4 additional inches of snow today.
There are many things I can do with the unexpected free day, so that it's difficult to choose what to do. I think the first thing to do will be to take a nap.
