my first question: what is Jeff looking at the dolls on Ebay for anyway...isn't he a LITTLE old for dolls??

Actually, I've been coping with turning 50 by willfully and deliberately entering my second childhood.

Seriously, I've come to the conclusion if it was a toy, somebody is now collecting it. I found "Lureen" when, out of curiosity, I did a search on eBay for "Johnny West," the 11-inch-tall cowboy "action figure" that Marx brought out in the wake of the success of the original "G.I. Joe." I had one when I was a kid, and also his Indian pal, Chief Cherokee, and their respective horses. The line was expanded to include many additional characters, including "Jane West" and other female figures, such as the "Janice" in red.
I've learned from eBay that all those original figures, and their accessories, are collectible. And not only the originals, but also "reissue" versions. Plus, there is a whole "community" out there of "Johnny West" collectors, plus there are vendors making and marketing additional figures based on the "Johnny West" concept, including characters played in movies by John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.
