Crush some chocolate chip cookies in a bowl, then pile some chocolate ice cream on top of it, and finally drizzle, or better yet drown the ice cream in chocolate syrup. Then sit down and enjoy! I call it "Death By Chocolate" because it's a certain artery clogger! But iit tastes really good and t's a wonderful comfort food!

Hi Lynne,  no apologies required at all, my user name does not alude to where I live. I just mentioned where I live because I am not entirely sure of Australian culinary tastes. Though we are similar in  many respects.

I've heard of baked beans on toast from British people so that doesn't sound so strange.  We have salsa on our omelettes and eggs too, so actually the spaghetti thing isn't that odd either.

I am suprised you don't have baked beans on toast over there? Wow over here its a scrap meal ie it takes 3  minutes to make and I always fry the beans after the bacon so they soak up the bacon flavour - yum

Wow that flavour is SO me! I hope to get to the US in February, so Chunky Monkey is definitely going down on the "Must Eat" list    That list as well as the "Must See" list is growing expodentially

How do you prepare baked beans and toast anyhow?  When I've read about it from reliable sources (translate - British fanfiction  ) there seems to be a 'correct' way to prepare the toast, kinda like with tea, you're supposed to boil the water first and warm the pot and use real leaves not bags.

Here you can make baked beans from scratch with ingredients like bacon or ham or beef, onion, garlic, molasses, etc...or use them from a can/tin.

In the southeast US, we eat pinto beans over cornbread, which is kinda the same thing, though it's sounds more bland with the beans usually just being cooked with a little meat (bacon or ham usually) and flavored with salt.  And not typically for breakfast.
