Hearts out to Reanna for her city
« on: July 12, 2006, 10:13:29 am »
I just found out about the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India (formerly called Bombay), which is where our lovely Reanna is from. At least 7 bombs exploded on trains there yesterday and killed 190 people. She happens to be in New York right now, so is thankfully safe, even though being away is probably very hard at this time too. I just wanted to send out my heartfelt prayers and wishes to Reanna and her loved ones, and to everyone in Mumbai, for healing from the shock and trauma of the attacks, and for safety to return to Mumbai.

With love,

Jenny

I know first hand what is to have a terrorist attack happening near your home. The train station where the commuter trains were exploded in Madrid in 2004 is 15 minutes away from where I live. Some of my friends saved their lives because they got up late that morning and missed the train. So, my heart goes to Reanna too, and I really hope her people and loved ones are safe and sound.

Whatever terrorists want to achieve with their killing or innocent lives, they failed because people are united regardless the nationality and religion. We have seen that after 9/11, after Madrid bombing, after London bombing, and we are seeing that again after Mumbai.

My heart out to Reanna, to all my friends who have loved ones in Mumbai, and to the people in Mumbai.

I don't mean to be critical, but am I the only one that notices the Mumbai bombing is no longer on the homepage of CNN?  I remembered that the news dominated all major news outlets for quite a few days after Madrid and London bombing.

That's how the news work. Once there's a more dramatic and recent event, it becomes top priority, and whatever was in the headlines before, becomes old news even if it isn't. Also, the war Israel's attacks on Lebanon is more importat for the American government than the terrorist attacks in India.

Nope, you are not the only one.
CNN is not my choice for news - I only stumble on there sometimes to catch a glimpse of Anderson Cooper's show.
I prefer BBC news any day.

True.  CNN news is very US centric. And tell me about Anderson Cooper ;), though I like Anderson Cooper in the fields better.

I will just echo these sentiments myself.  Thanks for posting this Jenny.  All good wishes, Reanna.

What Jenny said.  Reanna, I hope your family and friends escaped this insanity.  Many hugs and healing prayers are going out to you and to your hurting home city.  Not only Mumbai needs healing, but the whole world.  :'(
