I didn't even notice the Prince thing! LOL
I may have been more attuned because I once wrote a newspaper story about Prince's survivors selling of a plot of land he had owned to a developer to build a neighborhood of expensive houses. The streets had names like Paisley Boulevard, Raspberry Beret Street and Dove Lane. (Kudos to whoever wrote the headline: "The perfect place to drive your little red Corvette.")
The city manager of the city where the land was located, a small town about 20 miles southwest of Minneapolis, told me they'd long had a street in town called Mary Jane Lane and people were always stealing the street sign. Considering how avid Prince's fans still are, and how close the land is to Paisley Park -- Prince's actual home and recording studio, which is still open for tours -- they must have driven those street signs into huge, heavy blocks of concrete.
Now that I think of it, though, they named a section of highway that goes past Paisley Park "Prince Rogers Nelson Boulevard," with at least a couple of signs marking that. You'd think those would be even bigger prizes!
