sad news about John
« on: April 03, 2026, 06:26:17 pm »
Just saw a post by Phillip on Facebook and thought I'd better share it here for anyone who missed it.

Quote
Wanted to let friends know that my husband John Passaniti had a stroke on Monday and is still not conscious in the Neurological ICU. He is stable but we don't know the long term repercussions of this yet. It was likely the result of high blood pressure and energy drinks, which can be very dangerous if you are hypertensive. Please be careful with caffeine if you have high blood pressure.

I will keep people informed.

Thanks, Katy, for posting this.  I just saw Phillip's post.

Those guys are too young.  I really got to know them in Alberta 2007 when we shared a suite outside of Canmore.  Such nice guys.

Of course, they have kept this lovely place running all these years.  I donated back in the day, but they haven't asked for anything since.

Here's to John's full recovery.

These days, people can recover fully from a stroke. Let's hope this happens for John. My healing prayers are going out to him.

Yeah, among people I know I've seen everything from "uses a wheelchair now" to "told me while drinking a beer at a party about having had a stroke two weeks earlier that interfered with his eyesight but he can still drive because it wasn't his dominant eye."

I'll be hoping John is closer to the latter.
