Your favorite, secret (not for long), comfort food!

I got into this discussion at the office, and found the responses to be as varied as they could be!  I thought it would be fun to reveal our secret food fetishes (keep it clean folks :))

Mine is macaroni and cheese with hotdogs...OK...not so secret (but oh so bad for you).

My secret, and far deadlier desert is deep fried Oreo cookies...OMG...glass of cold milk and thee, and I could turn.

I love tuna or chicken casseroles, spaghetti with meat sauce and cheese, cheese enchiladas, mashed potatoes (preferably with gravy), lasagna--basically anything that's starchy.

I have always had a very pronounced sweet tooth which has really put the pounds on me in my middle years--pastries and pies, cake and cookies, anything with chocolate.

How I can relate to that Scott  :).

My current fetish are malt candies. Gawd, I love the flavor and cracking them with my teeth.

Celery and/or carrots

Wow, David, I've never heard anybody say they consider celery a comfort food! I'm impressed. For me carrots and celery are Diet Torture Foods.

Other than that, I like most of the foods people have mentioned. Chrissi, I've never heard of "malt candies." Do they have them here? Would I like them about as much as you like marshmallows?  ;)

Kelda, are "mushy peas" a particular dish, like "mashed potatoes," or are they just peas that happen to be mushy? And is deep-fried pizza supper just what it sounds like? Pizza that's been deep-fried??

My favorite comfort food is probably garlic mashed potatoes. But I like potatoes in almost any form. Also, bread, pie, ice cream, in fact most desserts, pizza, pasta, anything with melted cheese ...

As far as I'm concerned, the five food groups are: fat, sugar, starch, alcohol, chocolate.

Stouffer's mac and cheese
Corn flake crumb chicken with baked cheese garlic grits (remember, I am from the northeast; grits are very unusual up here)
A big, juicy, rare hamburger
New York strip steak, medium rare, with garlic mashed potatoes
Sayville pizza (never get that anymore though...)
