Hey, David, did you get yourself a police uniform to go with that Crown Vic?  ;)  ;D

LOL!   Actually,  I did get confused for a Policeman more than once!

When you drive a Crownvic, you quickly notice that when you are behind someone on the Interstate they move over to get out of your way.    This happened alot.   So I ordered a spot light for the drivers front windshield post.   Now the car really looked intimidating from the front.      I could drive 80 MPH on the Interstate and even the Troopers waved to me.  It was great.

One day when on my lunch break, I went to the Post Office.  As I was trying to pull out and turn right into traffic  ( I was looking left to see if it was clear)  I saw an opening and turned right and hit the gas!    WHAM!    I plowed right into the back of a big Chevy Impala that had stopped at a traffic light!       When the driver stepped out of the Impala, he was in full Police uniform!   It was an unmarked Police car!     My stomach knotted.     He looked at our bumpers mated together then walked over to my open window.   "Look buddy" he said.  "Neither of our cars has any damage and I don't think either of us want to sit in our stations writing paperwork.  I'm on my lunch break and I borrowed this car from the motorpool.  How bout we shake hands and go our separate ways?  After all,  I kinda stopped short on you."

I was speachless.   I shook his hand and squeeked out a "You Bet" and drove off.    LOL

Ha ha ha!    True story Roland I asure you!

Tell you what,  thankgoodness that was in 1991 when those cars had big chromed steel bumpers.    If that same thing happened today both cars would have had their plastic bumpers fall off!    I think back then when I got to work, I looked at my front bumper and saw that one of the rubber bumper guards was scuffed and my license plate was bent.   LOL.

Kelda, you think an automatic transmission would make you focus less on driving - try cruise control.  You practically get the urge to crawl in the back seat and take a nap while the car drives itself.

Hell, even without cruise control I have slept half way to work.   LOL.

I think we all have suddenly realized that we were many miles away from home and had no recollection of most of the trip.    This is actually a form of hypnosis caused by driving a very repetative route to work.      It is a miracle that we get through intersections without a major calamity.

Good morning all.

12 degrees here this morning. Bright and sunny with lots of blue sky, not a cloud in sight. The snow yesterday amounted to an inch or two. Enough to look pretty but doesn't need shoveling. The best kind.
