And thank you too Kelda!  Did you know I live with some of your relatives?  I breed and show Scottish Deerhounds.

I've never seen a Scottish Deerhound live and in person (can you say 'in person' when you speak of a dog  ?). But I used to know a breeder of Irish Wolfhounds when I was a kid, and my uncle fostered one from time to time. I loved them gentle giants.

Yes, Scottish Deerhounds and Irish Wolfhounds are both dogs.

Kelda!  Shame on you!!    They are the Royal Dog of Scotland!!!  Deeries are a finer, more elegant and faster version of the Irish Wolfhound.  I've posted photos of my dogs and horses on several threads here.  (Martillo, my Andalusian stallion, is a mascot of Jess' Feedstore.)  This is a photo of my favourite boy.

And here is one of his grandaughters about 3 months of age, trying to work out what game my Borzoi was trying to teach her.  She is now nine months old and has grown considerably since this photo was taken.

What a great time of year to become a mother! I always felt that on a person's birthday it's the mother who should get the gifts and glory...so my hat's off to you, Leslie, for a job well done!!

I just celebrated my first-born's 19th birthday myself in March. Nineteen is such a pivotal year as we saw with Jack and Heath...I am excited to see what will happen for the next generation!!

Ha! I guess Jake disappeared and was swallowed up by Jack for me!! But I really meant Jack and Ennis. The immortal line from the second paragraph was "Neither of them was 20."
