Trying to keep Brit hours a bit here, since I am heading over the Pond on Sunday.

It is the crack of dawn here out in the White Mountains, I'll be heading back into Portland to Leslie's office to burn CD's, help Hannah with French homework and generally get my show on the road.  And maybe figure out how to get my digital cam back in focus!  EGAD!

Once there I will be picked up at Gatwick airport by a friend and staying the night in East London, then whisked off (hopefully) to Stansted, leaving my bags in capable hands, then going with empty bags to Frankfurt to fill up again and resume my tour.

I just found out a few minutes ago that my former colleague Alex, who had open heart surgery yesterday, is in recovery after a far more successful operation than expected - they did not have to remove the heart valve tissue that was in question, but were able to repair the defect.  I am hoping to talk to him by phone next week when I am in Deutschland.

David, have things improved at work? Are you back in good spirits? I am hanging in there, still suffering from post-BBQ letdown alternating with post-BBQ euphoria and spending just about every idle minute staring at a map...of Wyoming of course!!

I'm trying not to read all these references to the White Mountains where that wild wanton Washington place is with all the weather...

(I haven't been there but I got the T-shirt nonetheless)

it was a beautiful day... never really got back in here much after getting up at 4 a.m. - that was one looooong day.

I managed to get some decent pictures for a change, and posted the Tree of the Day in my blog, but here is another view, a better take on 'D-Day'

See I told you I would hit 6500 before I posted all my pics from the BBQ. And I'm not done yet! Not even close!! Lately I have become rather finicky about editing them. . .
