You'll all be happy to hear that today has been gorgeous here in Nottingham ... blue skies, glorious sunshine ... I've been out for a picnic on Clumber Park all afternoon ... heaven!

Yay, Susie!! I'm glad you have a break in the rain!! Question---how do people get their lawns mowed when it rains daily for over a week?? My grass would be waist high by then--with that much rain, at least.

Hope the sun sticks around for your holiday!

It is too complicated to go back to the original post...basically Susie, we will have water conservation measures in a drought, but it is never called a hosepipe ban.

I can tell a Brit a mile off! .... Just listen to them talking about the weather whilst apologising profusely and forming a perfect queue!!

oh no... no no no. I'm not British.  I'm (**whispering**) American.  I just... well, don't fit in all that well in America, trying to make a go of it, as they say.

And it is positively pouring here once more!

I am reminded of that Beatles song:

"Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun
If the sun don't come you get a tan by standing in the English rain..."

It's standing in the English rain day today.

But the rest of us here on the slushy Island can say a prayer of thanks we don't live in Tewkesbury.

:P     I'm at Home sick.      After having a sore throat for a few days and a low fever, I went to my Doctor for a Strep test.   Sure enough, it was positive.   :-\

I hate being sick on my weekends.  LOL.    But the good news is I get to stay home from work today because Strep is highly contagious. Well, that and my throat still feels like it is on fire.

Yes - stay coouried under the covers and take care David - sending lots of vitrual chicken soup your way!

Ah David, so sorry to hear you're sick!  :(

Lots of liquids and your antibiotic...you'll be fine in no time.

64 degrees here, blue skies, sunny day. Ah, summer...but it's not my weekend!

Thanks Darlins!

I have my Amoxicillin to take for the next week, plus I called out sick this morning.     Hmm..  I do have some Chicken broth soup in the cupboard too.   That might be good for lunch.     It is supposed to be hot and humid here today.   The high predicted today is 87ºF.      Will have to turn on the A/C later this morning or that hot soup will not look too appealing.   LOL.

Of course there is some humor in wishing a gay guy Chicken to eat.     It the gay world, "Chicken" is slang for a young man.     ROFLOL.     So if your sending me some chicken, make sure he is at least 18 years old.   HA HA HA!    <just kidding>   Ok,  make sure he is 28.    oh hell.  38?       ::)

well you can have that type of chicken too if you're up for it but he might get your throat infection and have to stay for a week or two!!!

David,  you must have a picture on your hard drive of a good looking guy wearing nothing but an apron to serve you your soup!
