Over on the IMDb BBM board, some idiot accused Heath of "abusing rugs". So don't be nasty to the shagpile.

It's hard to be in the mood for humor, but when my husband and I were reading the news article of Heath Ledger's death that had just been released on MSN earlier today, we got to the part in the article where it noted that Heath was famous for his role as a "gay cowboy in Brokeback Mountain". Spoken like a true Proulx-ian, my husband said that the article was wrong, that he was a gay sheepherder.

It lightened the mood for just a moment.

I'm getting kinda sick of hearing "the gay cowboy" bit on the news. They're totally blowing the surprise element to anyone that already hasn't seen it!

Here are yesterday's most-Googled terms. Most are sad, of course. But note what's #2:

1.    heath ledger
2.    keith ledger
3.    michelle williams
4.    heath ledger found dead
5.    rotten neighbor
6.    kate voegele
7.    brokeback mountain
8.    oscar nominations
9.    matilda ledger
10.    michelle williams heath ledger
11.    e news
12.    laura hall
13.    10 things i hate about you
14.    did heath ledger die
15.    421 broome street

How can so many people be interested enough to do a google search to learn the fate of a man whose name they don't even know? It tells you something about ... well, I'm not sure what it tells you.

A lot of the others in the top 100 are Heath-related, too. Here's the link, if anyone's interested:

Thanks for posting that, K.

50.   keith fletcher
58.   keith legend
75.   heath leader

And yet, somehow this one, also Heath-related, is spelled correctly:

23.   the imaginarium of doctor parnassus

I saw an early report that he was the star of Brokeback Mountain, written my Larry McMurtry! No Proulx, no Ossana, just Larry McMurtry......

Tru, that was hysterical and a much needed comic relief!  What a visual....I mean of your friend essentially entering a witness protection program...
