Newspaper article from the Fort Macleod (AB) Gazette. To those who may not recognize the name of the Java Shop, this is where Cassie confronted Ennis about those notes she left at his place, as well as the word she left with Steve at the ranch. (He got the message, in any case.)

What a lovely tribute to Heath!  Thanks for posting this, tamarack.

It's unfortunate that the Java Shop has closed.  It was one of the places I was hoping to get to someday.  :(

I'm going to continue to ask questions of folks up in Fort Macleod and see what is actually taking place.
As was mentioned on another thread, the tables are attached to the walls, so it isn't going to be an easy thing to just pull a truck up to the door and load everything in to be taken away.

If the doors are open because the building is still being used there is still a chance that things will be set up as they are now on the cafe side of the building. No, it won't be the same, but it may not disappear totally, as the Twist Thanksgiving house and Newsome Farm Equipment have.

If it's open this summer I would like to see the roses on the table again, for a couple of months at least.

Thank you Lauren.

The Java Shop was one of the places where I felt I was actually in the movie. The atmosphere was so authentic, I felt like Carl and Cassie would show up anytime we were there. You could really see Ennis there, having his apple pie.

And I really liked that they were proud of their part in cinema history with the dvd and the posters.

I was one of the hightlights of the Pilgrimage to have lunch there with my fellow brokies.

I like the idea of the roses very much.  :)

Could someone who knows where to look find some photos of our fellow Brokies eatin' there, and post them here?  I know I've seen several of those photos.

Thanks, Chrissi.  It was so exciting when they went there and posted these.
