Mancrushes or as some have called them "Bromance"
« on: March 27, 2008, 08:55:35 am »
seem to be the new "metrosexual" thing to talk.  Bromance are straight guys who are infatuated with another guy (used to be called hero worship in earlier times) or it's two guys who share everything but have a platonic relationship.  They confide things to each other, that at one time, one would only confide to a female.  Anyway it was on Huffingtonpost.

By the way, I find the article a tad bit homophobic as they say "ever since pop culture has gone  gay and all." I guess Queer Eye (one show) makes pop culture all gay.

http://www.mancrush.com/mc/unit   Who straight guys really like right now! Check it out. Of course, it's not to say gay guys can't vote. We might skewer things, you know.

The word "bromance" sounds like a bad thug porn movie to me.

reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Mr. Costanza came up with the 'back support' for men called the "Bro" (looked just like a bra - a 'cafeteria lady' bra at that!)

Wait...didn't they end up deciding to call it "The Man-zier" (a take off on the word brazier)??

"Bro" or "Man-ssiere"'
"Bromance" or "Mancrush"
and most offensively
"Man-orexia"

Seems like some men will do anything to keep from being associated with women and female things, like we're poison or something 'catching'.

Jeez, just call it what it is!! >:( >:(
