Made myself a midsummer meal. Cooked udon noodles for 5 minutes; drained and chilled. Combined them with scallions, basil and parsley from my garden, a lightly pickled cucumber, black and white sesame seeds. Made a dressing of mirin, sesame oil, soy sauce and garlic. Mixed and poured over the noodles, tossed with cubed tofu. Yum!

I think tonight I'm going to have rice and beans for supper, but I'm not sure what else. Of course there will be bread and butter.

I wouldn't say so. Those dinners were over a month apart.

And I should think rice and beans would say Santa Fe more than they would Boston.

Supper tonight will include macaroni and cheese, and probably a salad, but I'm not sure what else. Dessert will be blueberries over coffee cake in milk.

I decided on a turkey sandwich along with the mac' 'n' cheese and salad.

Quite a feast tonight: Fried ham, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, and a slice of bread to mop up the melted butter from the corn. And a couple of sugar cookies for dessert.
