Very well written, Leslie.  I'm glad we got a little comic relief at the end, thinking about Jack, thinking about Ennis, on a ladder, painting the house, in his shorts.

Great chapter, Leslie.  Their convwersation is so natural and intimate and unguarded as two people who have been happily together for thirty years wuld be.  Now remember they are still young, 63 is not that old from a vantage point of 80!  I ws still frisky way back then.
