I had that issue, too, but then I noticed STEAL. And, I reasoned, JACK means so many different things this could be one of its other meanings. In fact, apparently a jackass is male. (Not surprising, hahahahaha! Just kidding.)

Since this is first-name-heavy, they could have complicated it still further by using NICK instead of STEAL. That's a Britishism, but maybe that's fair play in a game that's often American slang-heavy?

More good luck thanks to my new method. I notice this is one of the ways Wordle is tricky: when you don't get BOING you look for something that rhymes with it. (Never mind that DOING would have been a better guess in the first place.)

Speaking of words that don't rhyme, I just realized GOING could also have been the solution. Thank goodness it wasn't -- I'm bad at remembering to retry already incorporated letters.
