NEW   CHAPTER   POSTING

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part  5B  (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

Hello everyone.  Great big hugs and kisses to Leslie, Marie, Janice and absolutely everyone over on the ‘Drabblefest’ thread.   :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

So sorry I couldn’t contact anyone sooner to let you know how I was doing.
I was on a strict ‘no computer’ order from my doctor for two weeks.
Today was the first day I could actually sit at my desk for any length of time.
Missed you guys.    :-*

(Finally, Ennis' dream)   ;)

Comments more than welcome and appreciated!

Thank you!

Cristine

Cristine!!!   :) :)  :)

I'm so happy to see you, honey!!!  You've been on my mind and I hope you felt everyone's prayers and good vibes being sent your way!! I actually did some re-reads of some of your chapters last night - I was missing your story so much.

You've been missed, too!

I know what I'll be reading later tonight!

Wonderful to have you back.

Talk to ya soon!

Hugs,
Marie

Ahhh, Marie, it's so good to 'see' you.   :)
I have been feeling the love, even in my absence.
On-line friendships can be so warm and refreshing.

LOL   You mention 're-reads.'  So, I'm gonna mention something to you.   lol
I hope Part 5A was part of your 're-read' session,  ;)
because I changed it just a little.
Maybe not enough to be noticeable to some,
but you're pretty detail oriented, as am I.     lol

I changed around several major paragraphs,
and added about another 500 words total to the piece.
It really needed a tweak to work the way I wanted it to work
in conjunction with Part 5B.

I realize now, after the fact, that I was already really sick when I posted 5A.
My mind was a little fuzzy.  When I went back a few days later and re-read it, I cringed.  lol

I think it flows better now overall...but then again,
because my chapters are so long, no one else may notice the difference.
Just wanted to make sure you knew.
You are such a sweetie.   :)

 . . .

Cristine, this is so funny!  I did re-read 5A - and I thought something seemed different - but I couldn't put my finger on exactly what and just thought I was misremembering.   It's wonderful, of course, but then I thought it always was - you couldn't possibly write anything that would be "cringe worthy!"  LOL!

Now, on to 5B - (cross-posting again)  :) -

Wow, Just Wow. Where do I begin?

“Hits it…just right…every time…” During my second read of this (yep, immediately following my first) I thought, "Well there's something C has in common with Ennis" - because you hit it just right every time, too! LOL!!

"Jack’s laugh fairly leapt from his body, wrapping Ennis in significant and considerable warmth, deeper and stronger than any coat or blanket could ever hope to provide, greater and finer than any dwelling place Ennis had ever known."

Love that. They are each other's safe havens.

"For unexpressed did not mean unknown." - That may be one of my favorite sentences in all BBM fanfic. A world of truth in six words.

And these phrases are so beautiful and real:

"Like therapy for his soul, Ennis couldn’t help but feel completely detached from worldly cares whenever he was stroking that head of hair."

". . .that smoky-eyed gaze of complete and total trust and surrender… Jack held on, tearing at Ennis’ chest with both hands, eyes gazing straight through to the man’s soul…"

Ahhh .... it's wonderful to be back in your heavenly realm, Cristine!

Do take care of yourself - you know we'll be happy to wait.   :-*

Thanks so much,
Marie

P.S. Ennis's four (or was it five?) "Well"'s . . - so sweet and funny - and so Ennis!

I'm doing much better.
Just have to be smart and listen to the doctor.   ;)
Thanks, sweetie.

Marie,

Thank you so much!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter,
and you quoted all the 'sweet' parts. :)

I really loved writing that line about Ennis being detached
from worldy cares when stroking Jack's hair.
Somehow, I can really picture it being just that way. :)

And all Ennis' "Wells..."   lol   That was just so much fun to write.
I'm glad it came through the way I wanted it too.   :)

Thanks so much for reading, sweetie.

I'll pop over to the Drabblefest as soon as I can.

I've been trying to catch up on a myriad of 'life' things...some of them I just wish I could ignore and hope for them to go away.   ;)    LOL

Take care, sweetie.

C* :)
