You work with a damned great bunch of people, Chuck!  It's truly awesome.  Don't take them for granted.  Great managers and teammates are not on every corner.

My 'foreman' gave me a bit of grief about taking off this morning to go to an interview for a volunteer job; I don't think I told her about the personal housing errand.

(Maybe networking was before her time and such...)

My first (uncharitable) thought was - "Well, what are you going to do, fire me?"

Then I told her that the day I couldn't spare 4 hours out of my week to help those less fortunate than I is the day I need to reassess my priorities, job or no job.  I almost told her I'd heard tell of companies that actually encourage and reward their employees for good deeds, but I figured - deaf ears.

She did shut up though.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

Just a quick peek in before my brother & sister-in-law arrive.  I'll be back later to give proper thanks for the greetings today, but I wanted to make sure this was done.

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.

Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.
