From IMDb:  Nothing new here; creepy crawlers invade a college campus where they subsequently take over the dead bodies of college coeds. Some comedic moments (intentional) gives this movie some merit, but in all it is still not worth 89 minutes of your life.

"O" is One on One (1977)

IMDB: Henry Steele is a basketball phenom at his small town high school, but when he matriculates to a big city university on a scholarship, soon realizes that he has few skills outside the sport. Expected by his coach to contribute significantly to the team, Henry is overwhelmed by the demands on his time, the "big business" aspect of college sports, and the fact that he never fully learned to read. Things look bleak for Henry when Janet Hays, a pretty graduate student, is assigned as Henry's tutor. Her intellect and strength lift Henry out of his doldrums just in time to battle the coach, who attempts to rescind Henry's scholarship.

AKA "Forbidden to Forbid"

IMDb:  Paulo is an alienated medicine student who's ever getting stoned. His roommate, Leon, a brilliant afrobrazilian sociology student dates the beautiful and rich Leticia, who studies Architecture. What seems to be another inconsequent movie about young people, their passions and a love triangle grows into a very interesting story when one of Paulo's terminal patients asks him to find her sons before she dies. The three students find themselves involved in the hard reality of the live in the favela.

Good acting, very nice choice of locations settings, showing the beauty hidden in the most unattractive part of Rio de Janeiro, incredible soundtrack and, most of all, a very precise pace make this film a really good surprise

Also known as:    Hush (USA) (working title)

Status:  Post-production

From IMDb:  "Hush" follows the final descent of Michael Rose, a college student troubled by an abusive past, haunted by his nightmares, and tortured by his "other self."  Michael spends his days playing music, hanging with his friend, JD, and thinking about his dead mother.  Withdrawn from most social life, he falls for Isabel, a strong charismatic woman who works at the local video store.  Torn between his feelings for Isabel and his fears of the apparitions that haunt his dreams and the voices in his head, Michael plunges deeper into his dark world where the line between insanity and reality blur.  As Michael attempts to fight off violent memories of the past and the present, he must also contend with the obnoxious new boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend, an old buddy of his who since stealing his girl takes every opportunity to push Michael over the edge.  At the climax of this film, Michael must come face to face with his innermost demons and finally come to a point of reassuring contentment or utter insanity.  Will the first possible love of Michael's life save him from himself, or will he become more cold and sadistic than his old man ever was?

"R" is The Rules of Attraction (2002)
« Reply #4404 on: July 14, 2008, 02:10:19 pm »

IMDB: This is a twisted story about sex, drugs, and college. Three disturbed students at Camden college get involved in a love triangle. Sean Bateman is a womanizing drug dealer who falls in love with virginal Lauren (not to be confused with her slutty roommate Lara,) because he inspects that she is his secret admirer, who is leaving notes in his box. Although Lauren does like Sean, she is still infatuated with Victor (her shallow ex boyfriend) who is in Europe for a semester. Lauren used to date Paul before he came out of the closet, and now Paul has his eyes on Sean when he mistakes him for bisexual. Things get more complicated since all the side characters (including the mentioned Lara and Victor) are deeply disturbed as well. Everybody is only looking out for themselves.

==COMMENT==
That is one ugly movie poster!  I actually really liked this film, there is a great OTT dinner scene with Faye Dunaway, Swoozie Kurtz, both drunk and medicated, and their sons played by Ian Sommerhalder and Russel Sams.  Sams, in a small role gives a break-out performance as Kurtz' sexy train-wreck of a son, Dick.

==ASIDE==
Speaking of sexy, I went to a pool party on Saturday, (mixed, straight and gay) and ended up spending a lot of time talking with this amazingly sexy 21 year old trainer who is also an army reservist.  Needless to say, I was in heaven!  Neither one of us knew many people, so we gravitated toward each other.  Anyway, even though, or maybe because, he was straight, it cheered me right up  ;D
