Plot:  In this pseudo audiobiography of the Village People, Jack Morell (a thinly disguised character of the group's founder Jacques Morali) is a struggling composer desperate to gain fame with his songs, but all he needs is a group to sing them. With the help of his roommate Samantha and a lawyer named Ron, Jack forms a group of six "macho men" from his Greenwich Village neighborhood and the rest of the film details their rise to fame from New York City to a climatic concert in San Francisco.

I see Steve Guttenburg was in this.  Did anyone catch that clip of him jogging in Central Park with NO PANTS ON?  The show that's on before SURVIVOR showed some of it and it was quite surreal.  You see him jogging in the park wearing a baseball cap a T-shirt and...running shoes.  At one point he says quite nonchalantely that he's just out doing his daily excercise routine!  I didn't know that he had gone completely insane!  Must have been that DWTS gig, lol!  It must be on Youtube

"D" is Dinner Rush (2000)

From IMDB: Is it just another evening at the hugely popular Italian restaurant of proprietor and bookmaker Louis Cropa in New York? Anything but as tonight's guests include; a local police detective and his wife specially invited by the owner; on the balcony rival bookmaker gangsters from Queens who want to become partners in the restaurant; in the corner renowned food critic 'the food nymph' is her usual demanding self; and at the bar, seemingly unnoticed, is Ken. As the evening continues enter Duncan, inveterate gambler and sous-chef on-the-line in the frenetic kitchen downstairs, who acts as the catalyst that causes the evening to draw to its inevitable, explosive, deadly conclusion.

"E" is Even in My Dreams (2008)
« Reply #5295 on: November 07, 2008, 06:51:59 pm »

From IMDb:  In this sparely drawn psycho-drama the protagonist is anything but the usual confused teenager prone to alternating fits of sexual excitement and histrionics in dealing with the first sparks of sexual awakening. Michael, an elderly, world-worn widower, in his pattern of mundane daily urban meanderings, happens upon a Tom of Finland doll in a sex shop display window. His bemused subconscious fascination with the erotic doll is the trigger for a belated and reluctant sexual self-discovery at the end of a lifetime of sexual repression.

From eveninmydreams.com:  The film was shot in five days in four different locations between Manhattan and Queens in New York City.

Plot:  When Duffy Bergman, a New York cartoonist, meets Meg Lloyd, a gourmet chef, he discovers the love of his life and they marry -- yet love alone isn't enough to make them happy. Meg decides she wants to have a baby, a goal that initially makes Duffy frantic, but soon becomes his most important desire as well. When they are unable to have a baby, Meg begins concentrating on her career and the two slowly drift apart -- eventually separating. Later, when Duffy is speaking at a convention of the Delta Gamma sorority, he reveals that the Delta Gamma girls have always been his dream girls -- his Love Goddesses. There he meets the young and uninhibited Delta Gamma girl, Daphne Delillo. When Daphne moves to New York to work as a network sports reporter, their mutual attraction and Daphne's spontaneity spark an adventurous new relationship for Duffy. Now Duffy must decide which is more valuable to him -- the relationship he has given up, or the relationship he has always dreamed of having.

"G" is Ghost (1990)
« Reply #5297 on: November 07, 2008, 09:05:18 pm »
...can't believe this hasn't been played, but I couldn't find it when I searched so maybe I'm OK. ???

And in other trivia - on my first trip to NYC (Easter 1991), I got to see the cobblestone street in Greenwich Village where Sam Wheat was killed...got my picture taken lying there and everything.  :D

From Wiki:

Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) and Molly Jensen (Demi Moore) are a happy and loving couple living in New York City. The only problem in their relationship is Sam's apparent discomfort with saying "I love you" to his girlfriend, only responding to her saying it with "ditto". This bothers Molly, who feels she needs to hear him say "I love you" in return.

One night, while walking back to their new apartment after going to the theatre, they encounter a thief named Willy Lopez (Rick Aviles). He pulls a gun and Sam is shot. Sam chases Willy, but loses him; when he returns to Molly, he sees her cradling his own corpse, and realizes that he is now a ghost, trapped between worlds. Lights descend to take him away, but he flees.

Sam realizes that the robbery was planned when Willy sneaks into the house and rifles through his belongings. Sam follows Willy home and learns that his close friend and co-worker, Carl Bruner (Tony Goldwyn), hired Willy to rob Sam in order to get his office computer password; Carl is involved in a money laundering deal at the bank where he and Sam worked. Sam had recently changed his computer password, locking Carl out of the phony accounts where Carl had stashed the money. Sam lashes out in frustration at his supposed best friend, but realizes that, as a ghost, he can do little.
