I've just finished
Somebody New and
Force of Nature - Earthquake and absolutely loved both (maybe (in a whisper) even more than
Human Interest and
Two Crows Joy 
). I think both were probably written back after I dropped out of the Brokie scene for a while (just 17 years lol) which is probably why I missed them the first time round. I need to take a break before reading
Force of Nature - Storm as I really need to concentrate on getting some uni work done), but the next chance I get I'll be reading that too!
Though there were times in
Somebody New initially where I was getting a little frustrated with Jack and him stringing Ennis along with coach donkey-dong (made me laugh every time Ennis said that!) the more I understood why Jack was feeling the way he was and how hurt he'd been by Ennis as time went on, though equally at times Ennis and his obsession with his damned horses frustrated me too, but I think all in all, in both, they really were canon Jack and Ennis, and hopefully will continue in the same vein in
Force of Nature - Storm.
Edit: Nope, just had a look at the start of this thread, and from the date it seems that I somehow managed to completely miss it the first time round even though I was around in the Brokie-dom back then! Duh!
Both, I thought, were amazingly well written, and after all these years the portrayal of both Jack and Ennis in them made me consider some things about their relationship and feelings about things I'd not previously considered before (or possibly had back in Brokeback obsession 1.0 back in the 2000's which I've now forgotten about
).
If anyone's looking for recommendations for Brokeback fanfic though, these two would definitely be top of my list!
