Latest update on John Passaniti: He is slowly becoming more conscious and has occasionally been able to communicate with us, but only briefly. He appears to recognize family members and is basically stable. He is in for a lengthy recovery, once we assess what deficits he has as a result of the stroke. He remains in the ICU.I am just taking things one day at a time, as are our cats, who miss him dearly. I am also always surprised by the massive amount of redundant paperwork I am filling out. Our medical system continues to be burdened by a ludicrous amount of forms that still need to be mailed or faxed. I think doctors will be the last people on the planet to have working fax machines.
