Bonjour
Eons ago, the federal government had a similar program to encourage achievements in these fields (offering crests as rewards), and I heard recently that, to promote a more active youth, a similar program was being considered, but, no the curriculum does not focus so much on achievement goals so much as it does on acquiring awareness of one's responsibility and ability to control one's health and well being by being active and aware of one's level of 'activeness'.
One phys-ed (passed) course is mandatory in Ontario in order to acquire the high school diploma, but again, the focus is not on achievement, but on acquiring management skills for one's health and fitness.
Now stop asking such tough questions this early in the morning ! (took me some 15 minutes to write this response)
Got me a full load today - which will include 3 music classes and yet another meeting after school (Last night was curriculum night - had to come back to school for a 7 to 9 PM meet & greet)
Bell just rang - gotta go!
