I was very ambivalent about Heath as the joker and was certain wild horses would not drag me out to watch it. I am glad I did and I suspect it will be the same with Jake in The P.O.P. The popular vote may swing me over to "the dark side" That and some gratuitous body baring. Once shallow always shallow. ;D

 ;D

Nothing wrong with a good dose of gratuitous body baring from time to time, I'd say.  ;)

And thank god I'm not dying to see this movie. I just read on imdb that the releasedate for Belgium is June 30th, 2010!  :o

It's coming even later to Norway. July 14th. And unless it turns out to really be a super-exciting blockbuster, that means it risks going pretty unnoticed here. Mid-July rarely sees many Norwegians storming the cinemas if the weather is good.

"Brothers" doesn't even have a Norwegian premiere date yet, but the other Scandinavian countries have it listed for February/March.  **grumble, grumble**

OK, loved the PoP photos - yes the horse is the most beautiful thing in that shot - sorry Jake.  ;)

LOVED the Ren Jake photo!!  Where did you get it Laura?

The reason I ask is that a few months ago I was surfing for new pics of my man Ewan McGregor and wandered onto a site where someone was manipulating Hollywood celebs into historical settings.  Ewan - as I recall - was pictured as a WWI doughboy.  And dang it, I can't believe I didn't bookmark the site.  Of course, I can't find it again.

So I was wondering if the manip was from that site.

EDITED TO ADD:  Actually it looks more like Regency era Jake than Renaissance era Jake (Regency era - Pride and Prejudice the movie era)

Thanks, Laura that was the site where Ewan's pic was as well.

Yes, I don't like Jake when he gets too bulky.  He loses his neck and it's just not that attractive, IMO.

I think I can manage the bulk if he has a decent haircut to go with it - I mean, he pumped himself up for Jarhead too, and it didn't drive me off  :D  - but the hair in PoP just sends me running like the perfect anti-Mika charm it is. Ugh. I know the game character looks like that, but couldn't they have come up with something more appealing, and less caveman-like, particularly since the main characters' looks are the most important aspect by far this film has going for it. (I'm including Gemma Arterton's princess character in this, since there has to be something hot for the boys to look at, too.)

That said, the images from Brothers reinforces to me that I really look forward to this film even if I know the plot and all. I don't get why it's premiering over here long after other places, but perhaps they figure the market is less because those who might be interested have seen the Danish movie already.
