To Shasta, Kelda, Dev, Paul, Chrissi, and Chuck,

Thanks for your nice birthday wishes.  Now that I'm one, my mom says it's time to stop my destructive chewing.  I don't know about that.  By the way, you wouldn't believe what I did to my party hat.  Let's just say that I won't be wearing that again.   (Neither will anyone else.)

Love,

Ember

P.S.  Paul, please stop giving my mom ideas for photos.  Wearing that stupid party hat was bad enough.

New house... and Skimble has found an identi-cat... 15 mins later and they were still staring each other out with their heckles up...

Has the indenti-cat showed up again yet? The other cat's owners might be in for a surpise, when Skimble begins to explore their backyard :).

I also have some new pics of my pets to share. And a story of my brazen cat: Yesterday morning he stole the cold cuts from my daughter's school lunch. Hubby had the bread toasted and therefore didn't close the Tupperware box as long as the bread was still warm. Tired me didn't notice this and left the kitchen door open. When I came out of the bathroom, Cäsar was on the stove and licking the bread. The pure bread, with nothing on it ::).

Cäsar is just as greedy as my dog when it comes to anything edible. But of course he's much more impertinent. He tries to steal from our plates while we're eating! >:( This gets him banned from the kitchen, but as soon as someone opens the door, he's back again, of course .
He does things my dog would be in serious trouble for, if he tried it.

Cäsar really close up:

Curious Cäsar coming out of my tumbler :).

Mäxi and Cäsar lingering on front of the kitchen door while we were eating. I opened the door and found the two hungry souls .

(Yes, I gave up years ago to prevent shoe piles in the corridor. Saves me lots of nerves ;D.)

Speaking of dogs wearing stupid hats ;)

How about sunglasses?

Sometimes my doggie manages to look like a doofus all on his own: he likes to sit like this .

Great photos, Chrissi.

I especially like the photo of Mäxi with the sunglasses.  He sure is a good sport.  How old is he now?

How nice of Cäsar to help you with the laundry.  He was emptying the dryer, right?   ;)

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!

Bizarre.

Now that I live in a house, I keep the bird baths full, so as to keep our local birds from dying of thirst during the long hot summers.

They get used to your water sources, you know?

Well, I'd been neglectful since last week and hadn't filled it in the backyard, so today, when I came home, I noticed a beautiful red cardinal leave the birdbath disappointed.  So, feeling guilty, I filled the bird bath and started the sprinkler.  I don't really water my grass, I just water the various ornamental trees my mother loved.

Well, after an hour, I just now went to peek in the backyard to see if the birds had discovered the watersource and to my astonishment, 15 doves are loitering.  At least 10 are sitting - sitting! - just downwind of the sprinkler, enjoying the cooling breeze, I guess.  The others are sitting in the shade, others wandering around pecking, a blue jay comes in for a quick wash and leaves.

Looks like a bathhouse.  I've NEVER seen them do this.  :o
