Back in February, after I read Human Interest for the first time, I got the idea to write a follow-on chapter, set in 2004. I got in touch with Lori about posting it and then forgot. It came up again last night in chat and Lori said sure, go for it. So, with that, I introduce

Makin' It Legal
http://lazylfarm.livejournal.com/25616.html

The story begins in the late summer of 2004. Jack and Ennis are still living happily on the Brokeback Ranch in Farmingdale, Vermont.

Thank you, Lori, for letting me borrow "your" Jack and Ennis for this one-shot story.

Enjoy, everyone. Comments welcome.

So would that be a fanfiction of a fanfiction?  ;)

Thanks for posting!

Lori

Just wanted to pop in and say how much I love your writing.

It's no exaggeration to say that HI rescued me from quite a funk after my first couple of BBM viewings. I felt frustated and sad that nothing could be done to improve Jack and Ennis' situation, then I discovered fan fic, and yours was one of the first that was recommended to me. I'm so glad that it was. It is work of the highest quality.

Thank you once again.

Karen

Aww.  You're very welcome, Karen.  TCJ will be continuing for quite some time yet...I'm currently estimating that it may be as long as 40 chapters.

I'm glad you're enjoying my work.  :-D
Jack:  I could kick your ass any day of the week.
Ennis:  Then the weeks where you live must have a No Fuckin' Way Day.

Lori how many chapters are you writing for Two Crows? I,m sure you,ve already answered that so apologies for asking again. I LOVE this story btw. I,m so glad Jack is standing up to his pig of a father for once. I,m sure it helps having Ennis there with him. His dad wouldnt dare do anything to Jack with Ennis glaring at him. As you said in HI, Ennis is the champion of steely glares. Mind you, I wouldnt mind too much if he glared at me, with those gorgeous brown eyes.....*SIGH*. ;) ;)

Oh, Lori!

What a masterpiece. I thought I was done crying over those shirts. The whole chapter was beautifully written and brought needed hope and resolution in the midst of a difficult situation. Here was another working out of the ancient promise: Amor vincit omnia, Love conquers all.
Peace be with y'all,
Fred

not all caught up as yet, but I got from chapter 20 to chapter 24 today... what a Saga!  Love Lars - but I guess everyone did.  Your John Twist just makes the hair go up on the back of my neck. I have KNOWN men like that... unfortunately.  Great characterization, and wow... smex!
