Chuck, thank you very much for sharing your lovely family story. I almost cried, it was very beutiful. Say congratulation to your parents from us on BM. Even if they have had a lots of ups and downs they seems to be very happy together.  :)

Today (February 13th) is a happy day in my family.

On this date 45 years ago, my parents got married.

I wonder if they knew what they were in for when they got married.
They've been through A LOT!

A wedding day

a number of cars

the birth of 3 children

owning their own home

working on the railroad for years

teaching children as an aide

watching their second born almost get expelled, and then turn around and become a police officer.

watching their third born get diagnosed with dyslexia and be classified as neurologically impaired, and then watch him become the site supervisor at his job

watching their first born son get through a dark and depressing time, come out of the closet, and lose 70lbs, get out of debt, and start to enjoy life

watching their parents pass away

make it to retirement, and begin the golden years

Here are Mom & Dad when they first started dating.

Here is their wedding day, 45 years ago today.

Here they are at my younger brother Michael's wedding day to my sister in law.

and here they are at a family wedding two years ago.

Back to work, eh?

Oh well, all good things must come to an end.

Is anyone besides me watching the Olympics?  I'm really enjoying it!

Tomorrow starts Lent.  For the next 40 days you're supposed to sacrifice something to commemorate the 40 days that Jesus fasted in the desert.

What I'm going to do is buy two cans of food to donate to the church for the poor.

For myself, I've decided that I will sacrifice my free time, and for the next 40 days, work out 3 times a day, as a piece of self-improvement, and see if I can kickstart my weight loss again.

Go for it Chucky.......
Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfection

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

Ash Wednesday!

I don't go to church and get ashes.....my parents and brother do.

I did start my Lenten practice today.  Got two cans of soup for the poor, and did a half hour excercise first thing this morning instead of logging on the computer first.

;D

Oh, btw, Yoplait yogurt has released a new flavor yogurt that I want to try very badly.  Went to the store today, but it was sold out.
