Actually, there are all sorts of .s throughout the whole story. Ray is just the first to notice this and try to analyze their meaning.

In all seriousness, I am humbled by your appreciation of my dot.  It is a proud period in my life.  I would never have speckulated that my ponderings of this indefinite portion of time would resonate so deeply with you all.  To me, BBM and my life since discovering it's most miniscule of meanings ensures I am more careful to Dot the i's and Cross the t's so as not to miss one decimal of life's opportunities.  This, I believe is the point.
