*sigh*

I'm pretty sure we've covered this particular bitch before, but I'm going to go ahead and repeat myself.  Many friends of mine are very religious, conservative, right wingers.  Normally, I don't respond to the stuff I get sent, the Christian stuff about saving America from the godless secularists or gays or what have you or the political stuff, but in this election year, I've finally put thought to action.

Silence implies consent, not politeness, even over the internet, so after receiving the below e-mail, I returned it to my friend with the word "debunked" in the subject line and the snopes link that tells the truth about the matter.  Let her deal with it:

        CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS?

This is very interesting!  We all need to read it from start
to finish......... and send it on to anyone who will read it.

Maybe this is why our American Muslims are so quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities.

Can a good Muslim be a good American?

This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.

        The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia.

Religiously - no . . . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256) (Koran).

Scripturally - no. . . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.

Geographically - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. . . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. . . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. . . . Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. . . . Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles, and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. . . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. . . . Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.
Therefore after much study and deliberation, perhaps we
should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country.
They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Americans.

        * * * Call it what you wish; it's still the truth.

        * * * You had better believe it.

        * * * The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand.
And Barack Hussein Obama, a Muslim, wants to be our President?
You HAVE to be kidding?!  Wake up America!

Obama even says if he wins the election, he will
be sworn in on the Quran (Koran)---not the Bible!
PLEASE, please pass this to all in your address book.

*sigh*

The latest from my right-wing friends.  I'm not even sure this has been confirmed:

Mind you, I'm getting these messages from people who think it's OK for the city to fly Confederate flags or for elected officials to have them in their offices.  ::)

I agree Sen. Obama should not have to worry about every low level staffer's choice of decor -- the staffers, however, should have more sense than to cause controversy like this for their candidate.

My bitch for the day is not political.

My car's gas cap is on the passenger side. I pulled off the interstate to a station where I usually fill up. Eleven spots were full -- one left. I had to pull around to get it in position. As I rounded in, another car zoomed off the road right into that spot -- they saw me.

Then I pulled down to the end and sat waiting for a truck to move. WHILE I was sitting there, another car came off the road and pulled up behind that truck. (I had to pull in front of it.) So as he left, they pulled in.

OMG -- I was furious. They were SO rude.

I just sat there. Then the spot right beside them emptied, so I pulled right there. The two boys just walked into the station with their heads down. I said "that was really nice" and they just ignored me. I think they were embarrassed that I filled up right beside them.

Then when the first two ladies who'd broke in came out and got in there car -- I slowly cruised by them. And I knew one of them. She saw me and I know she was embarrassed.

Good. Maybe they'll all be nicer to the next person.

My normally low blood pressure went up, I think.  :P :-\ >:(

Boy, you have guts Shasta to confront them like that.  You at least made me feel better.  I've had that happen to me and it's nice to know someone else is standing up for themselves and browbeating some shame into those usurpers.

Well -- not always wise, I guess.  :P But it made me feel better whether it had any impact on them or not.  8)

But I didn't feel threatened. I wasn't cussing them or making rude gestures or anything -- just looking disgusted. They were more embarrassed-acting than anything. The poops.

Some people around here feel it's necessary to pull up inbetween TWO SETS of gas pumps. The front part of their car blocks off one set, and the ass end blocks off another. I find that type of thing extremely rude.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

Not a bitch, but for those who've been interested in the ongoing adventures of my co-worker's wayward daughter.

The mother has seen the light!! - finally.

Her latest message to me after over six weeks of silence - I had assumed she was spending quality time with her knocked up, college-drop out, full nude dancer daughter:

[my daughter] has turned out to be a very selfish and dishonest young woman, and I'm not so proud of her as I once was (though I'll always love her, of course).  She's been hurting people right and left, myself included, resulting in me TOTALLY rethinking the wisdom of living with her to help her finish her education.  Among other things, she got {her ex-boyfriend, the nice guy] to move down here with her, and at this moment, she's back in [another state] cheating on him with an abusive guy [the stalker/verbally abusive/criminal father of the child - at least we think he's the father of the child].  She says she may be back in a week or two, but she's lied so much to everyone lately that nobody really believes her anymore... and we're getting to the point that we no longer care one way or the other.  My workmates keep telling me to distance myself from her, and I'm afraid they're right.

Be glad you don't have kids, [Del].  Some of them can grow up to break your heart!

Very sad for her.  How disappointing.  I am taking her out to dinner and a movie to celebrate an early birthday to try to cheer her up.

Good for you, Del.  She needs it right now, I bet.  And good for her for seeing the light . . .
