Hiya BetterMost friends.

yes, I'm using the same pic!  LOL  My cube is a mess today, and I didn't get a lot done yesterday, so I'm debating staying later tonight than usual to clean it out.

Normally Christmas Eve is a slow day at work, but this year both Maria and Pam will be out, so I have to run the show alone.  I want to make sure everything is done properly, so I'll have to be on top of it all.

Hiya Rob!!!  Good to see you back here!  You need to pop in more often!

No worries about not sending a card, that doesn't bother me.  ;D

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!   :-*

Misfit toys!!!  I remember watching the Rudolph cartoon as a kid, and always feeling so badly for the misfit toys!  When Santa picked them up at the end and gave them out as Christmas gifts, I was so happy for them.

God, I'm such a mush!

"Charlie" in the box, instead of a "Jack",  A train with square wheels instead of round ones that are normally found,  Dolly (A Dolly for Sue),  Water pistol that squirts jelly instead of water, A spotted/polka dot elephant, Bird that Swims instead of flying, Cowboy that rides an Ostrich, Boat that always sinks, Airplane that cannot fly.

For a long time, there was much debate about "Dolly" as she walked, talked, and cried like dolls do, and no one could determine what it was that made her a "misfit".

A script was found that mentions she has a psychological problem, caused from being abandoned by her mistress and suffering depression from feeling unloved.   Just a little creepy?

Anyway, it's Christmas Eve and I'm here at work, and will be here until 3:00 this afternoon, when we leave early for the holiday.  ;D

Thanks a lot, Chuck.  Now that song is stuck in my head alll day.

I wonder how many gay kids identified with the misfit toys?  Or with Rudolph and Hermie, the "couple of misfits". It's really a show about overcoming bullying.

Anyway, have a wonderful Christmas, Little Brother!  :-*

Happy Christmas everybody.

It is almost 7am Christmas day here in Sydney, 9am back home in Dunedin where I would rather be. I have been in Sydney since Monday 17th and cannot wait to fly back home on Thursday.  It is good to have Christmas with my sister but the humidity is killing me. Thankfully it is cooler this morning but still muggy. I have difficulty sleeping and just feel yuk. It is why I moved to a colder climate. I may stay in NZ next year and hope my sister understands.

After my hard drive collapsed 3 weeks ago and I lost all my travel photos from 2008 to 2011, I have bought a new macbook air. They are cheaper in Australia than NZ. I also bought an external hard drive but that is like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. However the computer has had troubles with my sister's now ancient (3 years) router eg it connected beautifully last night but nothing this morning. We bought a new router but have had trouble connecting with it. Sometimes computers area real headache.
This year's travel photos are on my iPad.

Anyway I hope everyone has a lovely day with family and/or friends and do not eat too much. ::)

Hiya Brian,
Good to hear from you. Hope you are having a great Christmas in Sydney.
A bit wet, 'tho. There was a lot of lightning yesterday, and it started a bushfire across the valley. Luckily the wind was blowing it away from the dense bush, and the rural fire service was on the job pretty quickly. Then it started raining, and that helped.
In fact, it's been raining ever since, which is good because everything was getting dangerously dry and the rainwater tanks a bit low. Now they are almost full, and the weather is a lot cooler after the really hot weather. Not so good for those who are spending Christmas by the beach, so I feel for them.
Thought I'd share my Christmas card from the rural fire service ...

Happy Christmas Day, Chuck, and blessings to you and yours.  Is your dad feeling better?

To our Oz and NZ friends:  it's 24 fahrenheit this morn with snow on the way in St. Louis.  Feel cooler now?
Dawn is coming,
Open your eyes...

Hiya BetterMost friends.

I'm back in my cube today at work, Christmas was nice, and minus the drama from Thanksgiving.

;D

2012 was a good year for Madonna.  Her recent CD (MDNA) was the #44 CD for the year out of the top 200, not bad considering she had almost no radio airplay for her new songs.  I think her last Top 10 Hit (Gimme All Your Lovin') will be her last Top 10 single ever.  Radio just doesn't play music from 53 year old people.

Pop radio may not like Madonna, but dance clubs do, and all three of her singles this year (Gimmie All Your Lovin', Girl Gone Wild, Turn Up The Radio) hit #1 on the dance/club charts, and all three were in the Top 50 dance songs of the year.

The big news for Madonna was her MDNA Tour, which was the #1 tour of 2012.

Total Gross: $228,406,085     Number of Shows: 72
Total Attendance: 1,635,176   Number of Sell-Outs: 72

;D

*waves to Rob, Brian & Mandy*  Good to see you all here!  Hope you're well and that you had a great holiday!!

He's ready and waiting!   Baby New Year is about to put in his big appearance!

I don't even think I have plans yet for the new year.  LOL  This will be the first time in a very long time that this has happened.
