Because it's still the most disturbing (fiction) film I've ever seen.  There is one scene in it that I just can't bring myself to watch again.

Good times, good times...sigh!  It's a mystery how I survived that decade.  ???

This doc is a good overview of how bacchanalian the scene was in New York.  Let's just say that the scene portrayed in Crusing was pretty accurate, lol!   It feels like fiction now when I think about those days.

"J" is Juliet of the Spirits (1965)

Because Fellini and his wife, Giulietta Masina, are an unbeatable combination.  8)

Juliet of the Spirits (Giulietta degli spiriti) is a 1965 surrealist drama film about an Italian housewife, directed by Federico Fellini. It was Fellini's first feature length color film. His first color film appears in Boccaccio 70.

Giulietta (played by Fellini's wife, Giulietta Masina) explores both her subconscious and the odd lifestyle of her sexy neighbor, Suzy (Sandra Milo), to help her deal with her mundane life as well as her philandering husband (Mario Pisu). As she spends more time in touch with her desires, she slowly gains more independence.

"L" is Leslie (2010)

A movie named after me! Too bad it is a horror movie  >:(

Plot Summary

At the historically black college of Dillard University in the lush mystical city of New Orleans, the beautiful and serious Leslie Beaudet is struggling with a dark secret of power in a world that is pulling her in many different directions. In the eyes of her Haitian immigrant father, Leslie is a queen who deserves more than the broken dreams and carnage of poverty. To her Black Indian mother, she is a source of pride and strength, a reason for carrying on. To her younger sister, already the mother of two and a high school dropout, Leslie is the only person who cares enough to share her woes. To her brother, she is the victim he failed to protect. To her college peers and teachers, Leslie is a determined, resourceful student, most likely to succeed, yet always impenetrably private. "Leslie" is based on the novel by New York Times Best selling author Omar Tyree.

Because I loved the movie (and can't believe it hasn't been played yet!), but mostly because I'm in love with Guy Pearce and he looked so damn sexy with bleached hair and tatts!

Because it was such an unusual film in many ways, and it was my introduction to Todd Haynes who instantly became an idol, and that turned out to be a really good long-term thing,
