Good a.m. from the Colorado Rockies! There's a blizzard here today and all routes out of Denver are closed, including the airport, EXCEPT the route due west to the ski slopes!! It's plowed and open for business--there's three feet of fresh powder today! My men have already left for the slopes and will relay a summit report this a.m. Otherwise, in Denver, the guv has declared a state of emergency.

Yup, you guys were all over the NBC network morning news. I don't think it knows how to snow here anymore.  :'(

I do have fond memories of the Blizzard of '96, however.

Lee, enjoy the white stuff!  I'm in Chicago for a brief moment, and it's rainy here.

David, your fellow TSA guys at Newark Airport get a thumbs up from me.  Yesterday, as I got to the front of the curbside check-in line, I was told I was at the wrong terminal!  That's the last time I trust the limo driver to know what's what.   I was right at the 30-minute limit for baggage check, and I was sure I'd miss my flight.  But two TSA guys calmly directed me to the right place, and the Continental staff shot my bags down to the plane, and I made it.  Whew!  :P

Thanks for the packing tips, too. In the end,  I decided to pack any liquids in the checked baggage, but I made sure to wear shoes that I could slip on and off, as well as socks!  It would be great if you would start a separate thread with advice for flyers.  At this time of year especially, it would be a great boon!  8)

It's much warmer tonight at 54-a little cloud cover keeping the cold at bay.

I have a friend who is remodeling her house. She, her husband and 10 year old son have been living in a tent in their back yard for 16 months. She finally gave up-no match for this cold and rain.

Todays TSA travel Tip
« Reply #1889 on: December 22, 2006, 09:06:08 am »
No excitement here today.   Just another hectic day at the Airport.    Over 7000 people thru my checkpoint yesterday.

Todays TSA Travel Tip!

Do NOT bring wrapped gifts with you!    Especially if they are gift packs of Purfumes or mens colognes.    Bottles of wine, etc.     Gifts still need to conform to the 3.4 oz. / 100 ml.  fluid capacity maximum.     So don't wrap the gifts until you get to your destination.  And if the item is liquid and over the carry-on limit, pack it in your checked bag.       But don't put a wrapped item in there either.   It the bag requires inspection, the gift will be unwrapped.

Travel tip #2  :  Wear socks!   The floors are cold and shoe removal is mandatory now.
