Morning all,

51 degrees here this morning. It actually feels a little chilly! Highs in the 70s are predicted. Blue sky all around.

I'm happy to report the bitching about the weather helped again  :D. Since Saturday, it got better day by day.
Weather report today: sunny and 30°C (86°F). Yay!

Most important, it didn't rain on Saturday and we were able to hold our BBQ (Anke has already opened a thread in the Socia Events Forum). It was a great weekend.

*without me!*   booooohoooooo!

I was exhausted Saturday, went home from California and slept all evening!

Many Airlines outside the US have a weight limit on carry on bags.     A good idea actually.

But this rule is apparently not enforced.

It's not enforced in some American airports, for example JFK or San Juan, but it is enforced in Spain. When I went home last December my suitcases and carry-on bag were all weighted when I did the check in. A woman next to me was arguing with the airline because they wanted to charge her for extra weight. However in JFK on my way to San Juan there were people carrying a ridiculous amount of suitcases and stuff, and the airline personnel didn't seem to care. Same thing happened upon my return to Madrid from JFK. They didn't care if my suitcases met the required weight.

Oh no, no no no David.

An airport is like a major city.  At least, Heathrow is!  Just getting into the long term parking from the entrance is a 4 mile drive!  It's a major city, trust me on this.

Atlanta's Hartsfield Airport is somewhat like that. All they need is rooms for rent and you could live there.

Maybe in a capsule  ;)?
The so-called capsule hotels are mostly common in Japan, but there are at least two airports in Great Britain who have those:

I've heard of these. But one doesn't get visual privacy in them?
