"Thus began our longest journey together"...is there an echo in here?

Ennis, thinking: Considerin' that it's colder than a witch's tit outside, an' there's more alchohol in me than  in a roughneck on Saturday night... it sure is warm in this tent...I'm sweatin'...what the hell would make a guy sweat in the middle of a cold night?

(from a personal experience at age 15)

It's from "Topper." (before your time...sigh.) Also, "Darker than a bat's groin."

I KNOW this sounds like it should come from the end of the story, but it always reminds me of Jack first looking at Ennis's campfire. It's from a French song called "confidentiel"

"There will remain, liike a light
to keep me warm in my winters
a little fire of you that won't go out."

(ça restera comme une lumière
Qui m'tiendra chaud dans mes hivers
Un petit feu de toi qui s'éteint pas)

Jack: What'd I say now? You didn't know that sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it? Huh?  By the way, the sun's gonna come up tomorrow morning, too! And ya know something else? I wouldn't be a bit surprisewd if we slept in the same tent tonight, either. God damn all the little fishes in the great big sea...""
