A Proulx, thinking: They're..really going to publish it!  I knowit's good, somehow, even though it's the first I've published--under my own name.. Sometime, somewhere, someone will read this thing, and...be glad they did....

God (to cherubim): This is a very special  fall. I know it just looks like any old fall now, but someday, what's inside this little magazine will touch SO many of my children with the reds and golds of New England, changing their whole lives. Stick with me, kids, a lotta people will be wearing.... poils.... .
