Same. I start with SHIRT. If that turns up nothing, I go to DANCE. But if, say, the R is yellow, then my second word uses R in a different position. But if the R is green -- and nothing else is highlighted -- I usually switch to a word that doesn't have an R.

I know not all of you play the NYT mini-crossword (I think you need a subscription), but it's really annoying sometimes. I'll go to the site and the puzzle that shows up is already filled in -- with yesterday's answers. If I try to search for yesterday's, to see if it's different or blank, it just sends me back to today's. This has happened probably four times since I started. What, does the person who writes it keep calling in sick?
