Hi, Chuck!

Haven't been here in ages, so there's much to catch up on in your blog.  You were posting about Superstorm Sandy last I read.

It's not a superstorm tonight, but there's thunder and rain, so I thought of you.  It was really hot today, too warm for a walk, then it started to cloud up.  By 6:30 this evening, it was cooler with a nice breeze, so I did my walk.  And now that it's dark, the thunder is going off in the distance and it's pouring rain.  Hope you get some thunder, too.   ;D

Just came over here because DCF is doing maintenance.

Hi to everyone I haven't talked to for a very long time.   :)

Oh, I easily believe you :)
I am looking forward to being a grandma one day - just not yet.

Hiya BetterMost friends.

I have no idea what that gif is from, but I think it's hysterical!

 ;D

I could actually use another image this morning.

Last night during the thunderstorm there was a traffic accident at the intersection by my house.  I didn't even hear it happen, I thought it was thunder.

I came up from the basement to go to bed, and saw all these flashing lights outside.  There were two cars smashed against each other, pushed up on the sidewalk, and they had knocked over one of the traffic lights.  An ambulance was pulling up as I went outside on the porch to see what was going on.

I went to bed, but woke up a few times when the sirens picked up, or when the clean-up crew was removing the fallen traffic light.

keep your fingers crossed, I have an appointment today after work to go see an apartment.  I like the location (not far from me now, near a major highway that I use for work), there's a parking spot for my car, they're like "garden apartments" (only two stories high) and the rent is $950.00 a month, including utilities.

I haven't mentioned this on FB yet, I'm waiting to see if all goes OK and I end up taking it.

I hoped you were getting thunder last night, Chuck, but not with such drastic results.   :(

Good luck with the apartment.  It sounds like it might be just right.

The property manager met with me today, and showed me the place.  It has new paint on the wall, new carpet in the living room, new floor in the kitchen, new oven and frige.  Decent sized livingroom, smallish kitchen, but good amount of cabinet space.  Bedroom is decent-sized and has two closets in it, in the walls so no space is lost, plus a linen closet.  There's a laundry room in the basement, and there is storage space for me to use there too.

He says he has a few different people who applied, but they are younger, he likes my age, that I'm single, no kids, no pets and don't smoke.  He gave me an application, and I'm dropping it off tomorrow after work for the whole credit check thing, I should hear from him next week.

He says if I get the 'green light', I can move in for May 1st, but he would give me the keys early so I can move my stuff into it a little bit at at time.
