Tommy Lee Jones played Gus in "Life Study."

I couldn't find a movie poster.  :(

From The New York Times:  Nothing works the way it should in "Life Study," Michael Nebbia's all-too-vulnerable love story about Angelo Corelli, a moody young Italian-American boy who wants to make movies "about the way things are," and Myrna Clement, who, at 17, is rich, eccentric, lonely and pregnant, though not by Angelo....

And from IMDb's message board:  ED MONA'S ACTING WAS GREAT, BEST ACTING IN THE WHOLE MOVIE! this movie bombed but ed mona was great!

Tommy Lee Jones played Cosmo in "Stormy Monday."

From IMDb:  Like Mike Hodges' in his crime classic "Get Carter" (1971) starring Michael Caine, British director Mike Figgis takes another disturbing view on the dark city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in this modern British jazz and crime drama. In "Stormy Monday," pop singer Sting plays a jazz club owner who is threatened by American business man Tommy Lee Jones who wants to take his club with violent oppression. Unfortunately Sting's close friend Sean Bean falls in love with Jones' girlfriend Melanie Griffith....
