Ok, I think we have an answer on the evacuations!

LOL

On Monday we were evacuated due to the smell we thought was an electrical fire.

On Tuesday we were evacuated due to the earthquake.

Building management believes that the earthquake damaged our fire alarm system, which has caused the "false alarms" on Wednesday and Thursday.  They've told us they can turn the system to "test" which would stop from calling the fire department, however, if there is a real fire, then that would be a problem.

We're not certain whether or not the problem has been solved or even worked on yet, so we're wondering if we'll really go '5 for 5' and have to evacuate tomorrow as well.

Hiya BetterMost friends.

*cautiously enters building, sits in cube, looks around nervously*

So, can we go 5-for-5 today?   Bring on the hottie firemen!!!!!

Seriously, I have no idea if the issue with the alarms has been worked on, so we may end up evacuating again!     I'll keep you all posted!

Well, it's Friday, and pay day!  Hoooooray!  I also spent some time this morning clearing off the front porch, bringing in any furniture, plants and stuff like that, to make sure it's secure when Irene comes knocking.

Today's travel destination:

Prince Albert National Park, Saskatchewan, Canada

A paddler's and hiker's paradise, Prince Albert national Park is a secluded world of forest-ringed lakes and abundant wildlife.  In its million acres of nearly roadless wilderness, the Great Plains meets the Great North Woods and ecosystems overlap, nuturing a wide variety of species.

Actually, I think a lot of my coworkers are getting very annoyed.  I think it's hysterical.  A few of them have been echoing what I've said, that it's Friday and we need to go '5-for-5' and have them back one more day.

Hey I have been to Chester a few time as I had relatives there, Its a beautiful city with all the old buildings.

Hey!  We hit a location on the calandar where the world traveler has been!  ;D

What photoes of firemen? forget the photos did you get a phone number?

Well, considering that I didn't get close enough to speak to them, a phone number was really out of the question, now wasn't it?

Hiya Kelda darlin'!

Yes, I think it's really funny with the fire department here for 4 days.......*looks at clock*  Well, it's about 8:15 now, and we haven't been evacuated yet!

As for Hurricane Irene.....not much we can do at the moment but prepare.   We have food and water stocked in the house, the cars are gassed up in case of emergency, we have a supply of batteries & candles ready, all cell phones are charged.

It's fantastic right now outside.......blue skies and a small breeze....it really is the calm before the storm.

We're all ready for Irene here.  All the furniture from the front & back porch is inside, the pantry is stocked with food & bottled water, batteries and candles are ready, the cars are full of gas, and the phones have all been charged.

Oh, and we made it through the work day with no evacuations!  ;D
