In 1985 Alfred Molina played Young Christos in ELENI and was in PRICK UP YOUR EARS with Gary Oldman the following year.

"F" is The Fifth Element (1997)
« Reply #4561 on: July 28, 2008, 07:27:17 pm »
From Wiki:
The Fifth Element is a French 1997 science fantasy, action, comedy, techno thriller film directed by Luc Besson, starring Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Milla Jovovich, Ian Holm, and Chris Tucker. The production design for the film was developed by French comics creators Jean Giraud (Moebius) and Jean-Claude Mézières and shows a strong influence of French comic storytelling and aesthetic style[citation needed]. The costume design was created by French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, who produced 954 costumes for use in the film.

The film's central plot involves the survival of humanity, which becomes the duty of a taxicab driver (and former Special Forces soldier) named Korben Dallas (Willis) when a young woman named Leeloo (Jovovich) falls into his taxicab. She is the Fifth Element, whose appearance was prophesied by Father Vito Cornelius (Holm). Korben's mission is to gather the other four elements before a black planet that represents pure evil collides with Earth. Mangalores, slow-witted, shape-shifting warrior mercenary aliens hired by corporate tyrant Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg (Oldman), are given the task to thwart Korben's efforts.

Gary Oldman played Sirius Black in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire."

From IMDb:  "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" takes us deeper into the characters' minds and the darkness of the Wizarding World....

Eric Roberts played Coach Davis in this film and also costarred with Gary Oldman in The Dark Knight.

IMDB: This is officially the terrible, boring, corny, and ridiculous movie ever created. The movie is all about a crazy kid and his friends, and they land a 747. His dreams are very corny and make no sense at all, and is very poorly done. Every special effect looks as if it was done without any modern technology, and might have been created by the kid that plays the "leading role" in the movie. If you watch this movie, it will definitely make you stupider. I advise you to never consider watching this movie, and if you do, good luck and don't miss the brain cells you killed off. My comment does not even fully grasp the awful creation from hell that has been made. The person that wrote the comment before me did not watch the same movie that I dreadfully watched, and wish I never watched. Peace.

William Hurt is Pastor David Sandow in THE KING and he co-starred with Gary Oldman in LOST IN SPACE (1998)

Synopsis
Discharged from the Navy with a duffle bag and service rifle in hand, Elvis (Gael Garcia Bernal) sets out for the town of Corpus Christi, Texas, to track down the father he has never met. He soon learns that his father, David Sandow (William Hurt), is now the pastor of a thriving Baptist Church and wants nothing to do with Elvis who is a shameful reminder of his own sinful past and a long-kept secret from his now legitimate family - beautiful wife, Twyla (Laura Harring), upstanding son Paul (Paul Dano) and his dreamy daughter Malerie (Pell James). David orders his family to stay away from this handsome stranger, but Elvis has already befriended the sheltered and lonely Malerie who has no idea of their blood connection. As their already forbidden relationship becomes more intense, Elvis begins to slowly infiltrate his father's family, setting the stage for an explosion of violence and tragedy that reaches Biblical proportions.

"L" is The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962)
« Reply #4567 on: July 29, 2008, 10:02:03 am »
"The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" starred Tom Courtenay, who appeared in "Nicholas Nickeby" with Anne Hathaway, who appeared in "Brokeback Mountain" with Heath Ledger, who was awesome in "The Dark Knight" as was Gary Oldman.

From IMDb:  This film... is amazing. This is the only way that I can POSSIBLY describe the brilliant acting performance of Tom Courtenay, one of my all-time favorite actors. His depiction of Colin, a young man from the lower class society of Nottingham, is remarkable. In fact, depiction is quite the wrong word for what he does with that character. Courtenay does not play Colin, he IS Colin, pure and simple. I will not give a summary simply because it is impossible to explain the story line without seeing the film. I have tried to explain the story line to my friends, and they just can't understand why I'm raving about. Anyone who is reading this, WATCH THIS MOVIE! It is one of the best films the '60s has to offer.

Gary Oldman plays Buford Dill in this crowd pleaser.

From IMDb: Caught this on cable last night and loved it - how can you not love a film that has (a nearly-unrecognizable) Gary Oldman playing Buford Dill, yer basic sadsack Southern petty criminal with a rectal problem which causes him to go through a lot of Chapstick? (This must be seen to be appreciated.) One of the funniest and endearing characterizations of his brilliant career. And Skeet Ulrich, who rescues and slowly becomes irreparably attached to the baby of the title, is thoroughly believable as well. If you watch it, make sure you stay through the end titles, which feature Oldman and Mary Steenburgen line-dancing. (PS: The baby is adorable too.)
