Well, Christmas lasts from the day after Halloween to Jan. 1. In various forms, anyway.

Maybe so, but not surely not the actual holiday?

I saw Christmas stuff put out before Halloween.

No. The actual holiday arguably lasts two days, possibly a week if you count the holiday spirit that lingers through New Year's Day ... and then ends abruptly, dumping you into the brutal reality of January.

Oh, I like that! So true!

Only here, it happens after the 6th January which is a holiday here.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

The past week has been busy!    :o

I had my monthly "monster report" which was due on Friday the 3rd.  Managed to finish that the day before the due date.  That week there were also two days of meetings at my office, so I had to help the executive assistant with set up and cleaning of food and such.

Friday I also had to pick up my first order of groceries in weeks.  I didn't need to order any food for a while, as I was living with mom and dad while the bathroom was renovated.

Saturday was my grand-nephew Trent's birthday party.  Pizza party to attend, gifts, and then a holiday hayride at a nearby farm.

I'm going back to the office on Monday,  it's our holiday party.  We've got it catered from a local Italian place, and I have to pick up the cake tomorrow at about 11:00am

the actual holiday is Dec 25, and then Jan 1st for New Year's Day.   The rest of the days are just full of holiday activities.

I saw Christmas stuff put out before Halloween.

I personally don't agree with this, but I get it, retailers are going to squeeze out every possible day of sales.

I like January, cold days, snow, and of course, my birthday!  ;D

And we know you also like the long dark nights of winter.

You're weird, but we love you. Sweetie!  :-*  :-*  :-*

Aw, thank you, friend. I also like being weird.

Here is a poem about the dark.

To Know the Dark by Wendell Berry

To go in the dark with a light is to know the light.
To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

Whew, last week was a busy week.  I'm glad it's over.

Yesterday was the holiday lunch at work.  Spent a lot of the morning setting up for the lunch, and then going to get the cake.  Then, of course was the clean up after the meal.  Of course, I still had customer requests to handle, so I had to keep watching the laptop for emails.

After spending the full week in the office, I'm back to working from home today and tomorrow.   I still have to run to the office today, because (like an idiot) I managed to leave my laptop's power cord at my cubicle.  I have reports to run at 10:00, so once I pull them, I can run up, get the cord and come back home.

::)

Saturday I'll be at mom and dad's place, my brother, sister-in-law, and Trent are coming by, and we'll be decorating their tree.
