Ennis, thinking: I dunno if I'd call it the fruit of sin, but it's certainly the fruit of neglect...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that doesn't bloom and carries
hidden within itself the light of those flowers,
and thanks to your love, darkly in my body

lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving

but this, in which there is no I or you,
so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close.

Wow! I think that might be the most beautiful thing I've ever heard! *melts* Where's it from?

Saucy: It's Sonnet 17 by Pablo Naruda---someone posted it on my thread (now gone to page two of "Brokeback fanfiction and poetry") of "Poems for brokeback Mountain Sensitized Feelings." I'
ll gve it a bump back to page one.

Then, you have to realize, the poem wasn't even written in English! That's just the translation!

(I have tried and TRIED to send is to dev by e-mail, but her yahoo doesn't seem to like my comcast!

Some folks aren't clear on Jenny, my youngest littler girls name. In the book that MIss Anne wrote tellin' the story of me 'n Jack, she called her Francine. Don't know why, mebe tryin' ta keep anyone from knowin' who I wuz. Seems funny though Ah'm the only Ennis De Mar in Riverton, so mebe she just forgot.

Thank you Heath and Jake for showing us Ennis and Jack,  teaching us how much they loved one another.

Everything is clean,
clothes, me, the water, my thoughts.
But--they were before...
