Ode to Chesterfield

We started with two mysteries
Where is Lance and who is Jeeves?
And hour by hour more mysteries were added
(at least Jeeves's spanking horse was padded!)
Jeremy's mind is in a whirl
Could it be Jeeves is really an Earl?
He needs to talk to Mr. Spanky
The paso finos have made him cranky
Cold weather is playing havoc with Ellery's back
And A.D.A Paula is taken aback
Esteban is back on the force
Not without some problems, of course
He manages to find a coffee tray
Much to Colson's piqued dismay
We learn that Jerry is a first-class jerk
Trying to keep Jeeves from his detective work
We can't forget the Red Stallion gang
With their usual sturm und drang
Pookie, Simon, and, of course Louella
Always on the lookout for a new fella
Nick's homemade cookies are the talk of the station
Much to Sweet Thing's consternation
The lights went out all over town!
More headaches for Sheriff Brown
Tragedy strikes for Wes's friend
Will this night never end?
And look who's come to Jeeves's aid
It's Sergio – but he wants to get paid
He leads Jeeves to the darker side
On Bluebird Lane called the Rawhide
Even drugged and under watchful eyes
Ellery sends help to catch the bad guys
Wes hurries home to his favorite food
Squash pie will put him in a better mood
Jeeves is the hero of these dark days
Saving Lance from Keynes' despicable ways
Colson is being overprotective
Hanging up on his friend the detective
A trip to Puerto Rico is in order
But Colson's never been south of the border
Lance is healing with Jeeves's care
They might just make a special pair
The cases are solved, left and right
Time for all the boys to get some sleep tonight
And let's not forget our star rookie
Safe at home and wanting some nookie!

Glad I could give you guys a chuckle.   :)

Yes, Louise, Jo a/k/a magicmountain was my inspiration.  I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't sleep - that's not unusual - but I usually work or read.  But for some reason, the beginning of this popped into my head ..... see how inspiring your stories are?  (And it was a lot more fun than the work I brought home.)

Another poet here I see
to chronicle the history
of Colson, Lance and Ellery
dramatic deaths
and thuggery
torture rape
and mystery

Who better than our Mariez!

And perhaps a bit of a surprise, but I had meant to do this when I finished the story:

I have opened up the book "The Chesterfield Fortune" to public reading!

The story starts here, with new modern LJ cuts!

Yay!  And we even got a little pose from Ellery!  As for that striptease, please file that one in the memory banks for future reference, Louise!   ;D

   Ellery, Ellery, Ellery, what are we going to do with you?

A terrific start - thanks.

I have got to tell you ... it was tough getting started on that.  I can use as much encouragement as possible!
